Cranford Park public consultation
took place recently. If you weren't able to attend, everything can be
seen on-line (see below) and there are displays in Cranford, Harlington and
Botwell Green (Hayes) libraries and St. Dunstan's Church (Saturdays only). There is a questionnaire as part
of this which only takes 2 minutes to complete. Doing this shows the
authorities that people care about the park, making our chances of success so
much higher.
The proposals are an opportunity to enhance the park so it becomes an attractive destination people will want to visit for its wildlife, history, natural and man-made features and for relaxation. Highlights include a café / restaurant, opening the historic cellars and stables to the public, new paths, improved entrances, a horticultural centrepiece and a new water feature. It will require a successful bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund. The consultation closes on May 11. www.hillingdon.gov.uk/consultation

The Harmondsworth Remembers event took place on Sunday (20th July) and was a great success. It was a fitting tribute to all who served during WWI and particularly to the 94 from the villages who died on service. The event was attended by the Mayor of LBH, two past Mayors of the borough, Councillors, Sir David William Brewer the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, local MP's, kind sponsors and many of the residents of the villages came to pay their respects. As part of the service 94 residents and friends of the villages each read out a name of one of those from the villages who was killed. Very well done to everyone involved in the organisation of the event, it was a very special tribute; (thanks also to the Sea Scouts, Uxbridge Choral Society and the British Airways Band for their contribution). Please visit the 'gallery' page for some photographs of the equine parade that followed the service (more to follow)..
UPDATE: Congratulations to Dan & Ian on completion of their challenge, an amazing achievement and so far raising over £5,000..! Now over £6,500
